Methodology

“We treat Arbitrum like every other liquid crypto asset: the model fuses on-chain flow, social-sentiment momentum, derivatives positioning, and price-structure signals into a probabilistic directional forecast for each horizon. Nothing on this page is a buy or sell recommendation — it's a snapshot of what our ensemble currently thinks, with the realised track record published right next to it so you can judge how much weight to give it.” — Edward Hickman, Founder & CEO, Futurecast AI

Research scope and limitations

This page presents observed market data, forecast direction where available, horizon definitions, and historical track-record context where available. Forecast probabilities are unavailable pending shadow validation, so no probability estimate is shown here.

Check each section's update date and forecast timestamp. Data may be delayed or stale; historical results do not establish future performance, and model output is not a recommendation.

About Arbitrum

Arbitrum is a Layer 2 scaling solution built on top of the Ethereum blockchain. It was developed by Offchain Labs, a company founded in 2018 by Ed Felten, Steven Goldfeder, and Harry Kalodner. The core problem Arbitrum addresses is Ethereum's limited transaction throughput and relatively high fees. By processing transactions off the main Ethereum chain and then settling the results on-chain, Arbitrum allows users and applications to interact with Ethereum-compatible smart contracts at lower cost and higher speed, while still inheriting Ethereum's security guarantees.

The technology underpinning Arbitrum is called Optimistic Rollup. In this model, transactions are batched together and posted to Ethereum with the assumption that they are valid by default. A fraud-proof mechanism exists so that any party can challenge a transaction they believe to be invalid within a set dispute window. This approach avoids the computational overhead of verifying every transaction on the main chain, which is what enables the cost and speed improvements. Arbitrum One, the flagship public network, launched in August 2021 and became one of the most widely used Layer 2 networks by total value locked. Arbitrum Nova, a separate chain optimized for gaming and social applications, launched in 2022. In March 2023, Offchain Labs introduced the ARB governance token, distributing it to early users and developers through an airdrop.

The ARB token functions as a governance token, giving holders the ability to vote on proposals related to the Arbitrum ecosystem and protocol parameters through the Arbitrum DAO.
