Methodology

“We treat Dai [on Optimism] like every other liquid crypto asset: the model fuses on-chain flow, social-sentiment momentum, derivatives positioning, and price-structure signals into a probabilistic directional forecast for each horizon. Nothing on this page is a buy or sell recommendation — it's a snapshot of what our ensemble currently thinks, with the realised track record published right next to it so you can judge how much weight to give it.” — Edward Hickman, Founder & CEO, Futurecast AI

Research scope and limitations

This page presents observed market data, forecast direction where available, horizon definitions, and historical track-record context where available. Forecast probabilities are unavailable pending shadow validation, so no probability estimate is shown here.

Check each section's update date and forecast timestamp. Data may be delayed or stale; historical results do not establish future performance, and model output is not a recommendation.

About Dai [on Optimism]

Dai is a decentralized stablecoin created by MakerDAO, a project founded in 2014 by Rune Christensen. Unlike stablecoins issued directly by a company and backed by dollars held in a bank, Dai maintains its peg to the US dollar through a system of overcollateralized crypto assets and smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. Users lock up collateral in MakerDAO's smart contracts to generate Dai, and the system automatically manages stability through mechanisms such as liquidations and interest rate adjustments. MakerDAO launched the single-collateral version of Dai in 2017 and upgraded to multi-collateral Dai in 2019, broadening the range of assets that could be used as collateral.

Dai on Optimism refers to the same Dai token bridged to the Optimism network, which is a Layer 2 scaling solution built on top of Ethereum. Optimism uses a technology called Optimistic Rollups, which batches transactions off the main Ethereum chain and settles them on Ethereum's base layer, reducing transaction fees and increasing throughput while inheriting Ethereum's security guarantees. When Dai is bridged to Optimism, it retains the same peg and function as it does on Ethereum mainnet, but transactions involving it occur on the faster, lower-cost Layer 2 environment. This makes it more practical for everyday use cases such as payments, decentralized finance applications, and transfers where high Ethereum gas fees would otherwise be a barrier.

Within the network, DAI functions as a stable unit of account and medium of exchange, used extensively across decentralized finance protocols for lending, borrowing, and liquidity provision.
